Impact innovation & strategy.
Hi, I’m Becca, I’m the face behind What For. I have over a decade of experience in purpose-led innovation and strategy that has covered start-ups, corporates and academia.
My last 6 years have focused on sustainability initiatives, ranging from C-suite strategy work, cross-company collaborations, sustainable innovation function set up and innovation in circularity, impact reporting and more broadly, decarbonisation.
I was employee number 3 at a boutique consultancy before moving to a ‘big 4’ with a top sustainability practice. I’ve had the pleasure of working with huge global brands and start-ups, as well as dabbling in my own start-ups on the side!

Innovating in impact measuring & reporting
Challenge: We were tasked by a large global client to innovate their impact measuring and reporting process and outputs, with a particular focus on the use of technology.
Outcome: Through a 12-week innovation process we helped the client generate and test ideas covering data capture, processing and reporting. The deliverables included a user-tested final concept, a clickable prototype, tested data flows, future op model, tech implementation options, roadmap of next steps and more.

Plastics & circular economy - innovation & strategy
Challenge: We were tasked by a large multi-national consumer goods company to help them explore plastic alternatives and how to bring circularity into their business.
Outcome: We created an immersive experience to walk the global exec through different versions of a circular future. We then brought into the room startups and researchers who shared innovative solutions and thinking. We brought into the room real plastic alternatives for them to experience before moving into an idea generation and strategy session on how to move forward and drive real change.

Developing a new kind of partnership for EY
Challenge: In developing a sustainable innovation offering for the business I wanted to bring in new types of partnerships and thinking to challenge our teams and our clients, as well as provide inspiration and collaboration opportunities.
Outcome: Becca formed an initial partnership for EY with the Venture Builder for the Climate Emergency, Carbon13. This enhanced innovation offerings for clients, brought learning opportunities to to the firm and supported the start-ups on their journeys.
Since the success of this partnership an additional relationship with Imperial College London and their Undaunted Programme has also been developed providing access for collaboration to an even greater number of the most innovative businesses in climate-tech.
